VOTE Poster

For my vote poster, I really focused on targeting youth. I wanted to send a message to the students of Ontario about how important it is for them to vote. Since the vote involves students in Ontario, everythiug on my poster was thought out and put on my poster to appeal to high school students. The main focus on my poster is the IPhone. The majoirty of teenagers in Ontario have an IPhone. Consideirng teengers love to text and read text messages, I created a text conversation to the students of Ontario who haven't heard about the vote and I gave them some information. To read the text messages on my poster you would need to be looking directly at it. I then decided I needed something that would attract youth from a distance, so I inserted a young looking group of people. I decided to use a bright blue background because it's happy. Lastly, I wanted a intersting way to write "vote", I got the idea from the examples shown in class to put a check mark instead of a "v" and I loved it.

Odd Flower Out - Shape/ Balance

I was drawn to take this photograph becaause even before it was photoshopped the red flower beside the two white flowers, stood out to me. The flowers were very appealing to me because it popped. Once I took this photo I knew exactly how I wanted to photoshop it. I wanted my focal point to be the red flower, to portray that I made a new layer for the flower and changed everything to black and white except for the red flower on a seperate layer. My focal point is a rule of thirds composition. I came to the conclusion that my photo is representing shape and balance. I think the two black and white flowers balance the red smaller flower. The photo is also representing shape because there's two different shapes in my photo. While photoshopping I decided to crop the photo tighter.

Rocky Way - Texture

I wanted my second photo's concept to be texture. There was one rock that really stood out to me. To make thet rock the focal point of my photo, I cropped the original photo tighter surrounding my focal point. Next I made a seperate layer fothe rock that I wanted as my focal point. Once I did that I darkned the brightness so the rock would stand out more. Lastly, I sharpened the rocks in my photo so you could see more detial in the texture.

Vibrant Pair - Shape / Balance

I took a photograph of this photo because I saw a lot of potential. Firstly the flowers have such a beautiful shape. The photograph is also balanced since there is another matching flower behind the more focused flower. Once I started to photoshop this photo I wanted to crop out everything that wasn't necessary. Once I cropped the photo how I wanted it, I adjusted the sharpness on the more focused flower because I wanted a viewer looking at my photo to be drawn to that flower right away. Next, I adjusted the hue and saturation on my photo to have more of a vibrant feel. Lastly, I played around with some effects and loved how the effect accented edges looked on my photo so I applied it.

Photo Restoration

Before
After

In the orginal photo of the these two sisters there was a lot of wrinkles that needed to be repaired. The first thing I did to start the restoration process was I duplicated the layer and changed the photo to black and white. Next I cropped the photo closer around the two girls. Once I did that I started restoring the photo by using the clone stamp tool and reparing all the wrinkles and uneven skin. I'm satisfied with my work because I tried it twice and the first time wasn't a success because I had a problem with the nose. The second time around I was able to make the older girls nose look normal and I also spent a lot of effort fixing the rash on her arm in the orginal photo.

In the orginal photo of this young toddler there was a lot of wrinkles that needed to be repaired. The first thing I did to restore this photo was I duplicated the layer and changed to black and white (when I uploaded the photo it changed back to sepia). Next I used the clone stamp tool to repair the wrinkles. Another thing I did was I cropped the photo a bit down to the toddlers head. I am satisfied with my results restoring this photo because it was the hardest photo to restore, the photo was very damaged with wrinkles. Also, the toddlers face took a long patient time to restore so I'm very pleased it turned out well.

Composite Photo

Before
The sky I used
The bird I used
The ship wreck I used

Title: Storm Watcher

The composite photo is made out of a few photos. Firstly, I used a photo I took in Couzmel, Mexico on a beautiful beach. I love this photo because it's so bright and the beach landscape is very attractive looking. Once I decided to use this photo I isntantly knew I wanted to put in a crazy looking sky. I thought a stormy sky would best suit the photo. Once I inserted the sky I liked I had a few problems I had to overcome. My first problem was that my horizon line was off centre so I fixed that first. The second problem I had while inserting the sky was that it didn't quite look appealing, to make it look like it belonged to the photo I had to change the hue and saturation. I wanted to change the saturation to look purple because it represents imaginative and creative and I wanted my landscape photo to portray that vibe. Then I changed the water in the orginal photo to match the sky because that would make it more realistic looking because the colour of the ocean is a reflection of the colour of the sky. Another thing I did to my landscape was I inserted a huge huntch backed bird into my photo, I decided to do that because I thought it was a strange looking bird and I wanted it to have some kind of creature obserbving the storm in my landscape. I thought the bird sitting on the palm tree watching the storm was effective. I love how the bird has a huntch back because anaimals tend to huntch their backs when they are frightened. I wanted the storm to be intimdating so having the bird with a huntched back makes you look at the landscape as if it's scarier. Lastly, I inserted a photo I also took of a ship wreck. To make the ship look more like it's sinking I added a square of my purple water around my ship and used my eraser tool to make waves around the front of the boat. I decided to do this because I thought it would best suit my photo because I wanted to give off a storm, I think the ship wreck ties it all together because it's a stormy day with a scared huntched backed bird watching a ship wreck sink, meanwhile, there's a crazy stormy sky.
